Commission Process
How to Commission a Fursuit
Commissioning custom work can feel like a leap of faith. Here is exactly what happens from first message to delivery, so you know what to expect at every step.
Step 1 — Send Your Idea
Start by sending us your reference sheet or a written description of your character. Include colours, species, expression, and any specific features that matter to you. If you only have a rough concept, that is fine — we can help develop it.
No payment or commitment is required at this stage.
Step 2 — Quote and Scope
We review your request and come back with a written quote covering what will be built, the materials involved, the production window, and the total price. We will flag anything ambiguous before we begin so there are no surprises later.
Step 3 — Design Approval and Deposit
Once you approve the quote, we confirm the final design details and collect a 50% deposit. The deposit secures your place in the production queue and covers materials. We do not start cutting fur until the deposit clears.
Step 4 — Production and Progress Photos
This is the longest stage. Production time varies by complexity — a partial or head-only build moves faster than a fullsuit with complex markings. We send you photo updates at each major milestone so you can see your character coming together and raise any concerns early.
Step 5 — Balance and Shipping
When your commission is complete, we send final photos for your approval. Once you are happy, we issue an invoice for the remaining balance. After payment clears, we pack and ship with tracking.
Typical Timeline
- Accessories (paws, tails) — 2 to 4 weeks
- Head or partial — 4 to 8 weeks
- Fullsuit — 8 to 16 weeks
These ranges are estimates, not guarantees. Complex designs, material availability, and queue position all affect the final timeline. We will always give you a specific estimate in your quote.
What We Need From You
- A reference sheet or clear description of your character
- Measurements (see our Sizing Guide)
- Your target deadline, if you have one
- Any accessibility or comfort requirements we should design around
